This one's Honey Processed, ripe cherries are depulped but left with a touch of sticky mucilage—the “honey”—before drying. The result is a coffee that’s silky and sweet, with layered fruit notes and a smooth, syrupy body. Graceful, balanced, and full of character, this is Danche at its most effortless.

The 'bosses' think it’s best I leave the Dirty Dancing references at the door—but let’s be honest, nobody puts Danche in the corner.

This coffee comes from the Worka Chelbesa kebele in Ethiopia’s Gedeb woreda, grown by smallholder farmers and processed at SNAP Specialty Coffee’s Danche wet mill, managed by Negusse Debela. Worka Chelbesa’s semi-forest environment—with Ensete trees and rich vegetation—creates ideal conditions for shade-grown coffee. The Danche station sources cherries from 600–800 farmers cultivating small plots between 1925 and 2300 meters above sea level. Founded in 2008, SNAP operates several washing stations across Gedeo, Guji, and West Arsi. Our partnership with SNAP, begun in 2022, brings you this exceptional coffee that highlights Ethiopia’s heritage and the expertise of its producers.

Yirgacheffe—meaning “Land of Many Springs”—is famed for its perfect growing conditions, rich soils, and abundant water. Located in the Gedeo Zone about 409 km south of Addis Ababa, it is home to smallholder farmers who have cultivated coffee for generations. Washed processing, first introduced here in the 1970s, involves handpicking ripe cherries, fermenting them for 2–3 days, and drying them on raised beds for up to two weeks to develop complex sweetness and flavor. With mild temperatures averaging 18.4°C and about 1525 mm of annual rainfall, Yirgacheffe continues to produce some of the most distinctive and celebrated coffees in the world.
